Joel Crenshaw

District Chief – Volunteers

Joel joined the Spring Fire Department in 1994 while a student at Spring High School. He carried a pager to class that allowed him to leave campus to fight fires. Since then Joel has served at Stations 71, 72, and 76. He has held every position imaginable from Station Secretary, Chauffeur, Lieutenant, Assistant Quartermaster, Captain, Senior Captain and District Chief, he also serves on the Spring Volunteer Fire Association Board.

Joel’s many certifications include Advanced Firefighter, EMT-Basic, Haz-Mat Technician, ARFF, Driver Operator, Instructor, and Fire Officer. Joel earned a business degree from Sam Houston State University and when not at the Spring Fire Department, Joel is a Senior Captain with the Houston Fire Department.

Joel and his wife have nine wonderful children.
