Steve Kiebzak

Human Resource Director, SHRM-SCP

Joining the Spring Fire Department in 2014, Steve has over 16 years of experience specializing in large-sized organizations providing guidance and leadership to all levels of employees. Although his firefighting skills are limited to the Stop, Drop and Roll technique, Steve has experience in training, compensation and benefits, employee relations, talent acquisition and management. However, his best skill is conflict resolution.

Steve earned an Associate of Science in Psychology from Excelsior College, a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from Western Governors University, and an Employment Law Certificate from Cornell University. He is a member of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources and the Society for Human Resource Management where he holds a Senior Certified Professional Certification, CompTIA Project Management Certified and an Achieve Global Certified Leadership and Development Instructor.

Since moving to Texas from upstate New York, Steve has become a big fan of the Houston Astros. In his spare time, he works on his MBA and spends quality time with his son. Steve believes the Spring FD embodies his favorite quote from Renee West, “You can have the best strategy and the best building in the world, but if you don’t have the hearts and minds of the people who work with you, none of it comes to life.”
